I am so excited to launch a program for peri and post menopausal women.
It seems to me that no one talks about menopause apart from talking in code about "that time of life" and the only symptom it appears publicly acceptable to talk about is hot flushes. Experiencing menopausal symptoms can be a life changing occurrence and there is little conversation in society about it's impact or how to live well.
Even within the NICE guidelines - the recommendations for best practice within the UKs healthcare system there is only information on diagnosis and a brief statement on treating through hormone therapy.
I want women to stop feeling alone and feel empowered to understand their bodies so I am have just launched a program to tackle this. MoodLifter Meno has in person sessions as it wants to bring women together.
Why exercise
Peri and post exercise you may not feel that you have the energy or motivation to prioritise exercises and yet physical activity has a host of benefits:
It improves vascular health
Regulates blood pressure, reducing resting heart rate
Reduce inflammation
Vigorous activity can lower perceived stress
